Dr. Edward C. Kormylo

Edward C. Kormylo, DPM, FACFAS received his undergraduate degree from SUNY Stony Brook. He then went on to the New York College of Podiatric Medicine in Manhattan, where he received his Doctorate in Podiatric Medicine. Afterwards, he went on to complete his three-year surgical training at the prestigious Northwell Health System (formerly North Shore-LIJ). Dr. Kormylo was named chief resident in the final year of his training.

During his surgical training Dr. Kormylo was trained in all aspects of podiatry, including both nonoperative and operative management of foot and ankle pathology. His focus, however, was centered on reconstructive surgery of the foot and ankle, including complex trauma of the foot and ankle, small joint arthroscopy, sports medicine of the lower extremity, and surgical correction of lower extremity deformities.

Dr. Kormylo completed training at Cohen Children's Medical Center (formerly Schneider Children's Hospital) where he focused on both operative and non-operative management of the pediatric foot.

Dr. Kormylo also gained extensive expertise in sports medicine while working with the NCAA Division I athletic department at Fordham University.

Dr. Kormylo has given numerous lectures on reconstructive foot and ankle surgery and the management of foot and ankle trauma. He is board certified by the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons in forefoot, rearfoot and ankle surgery.

Dr. Kormylo has been awarded advanced ankle surgical licensure by the State of New York. This is a rarely attained privilege that is only bestowed upon an elite group of highly trained and thoroughly experienced foot and ankle surgeons.

Dr. Kormylo offers comprehensive, compassionate, and evidence-based treatment for his patients. Dr. E.C. Kormylo provides services as the Chief of Podiatry at Long Island Community Hospital and is on staff at St. Catherine of Siena Medical Center and Peconic Bay Medical Center.
